The Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77

Come and get it! New Beetroots EP and an amazing video to boot. Alright, alright, I do realize that I just posted about an electro crew, one that brought me back to fond memories of a Bloody Beetroots track no less, and yes I do realize that I just started this thing and should probably not focus too hardcore on only the electronic side of the hipster kingdom, but it is Ultra Festival weekend and the scene is buzzing. So thats what your gonna get whether you like it or not. Not to mention, I already feel as if I'm late to the blogging game and this gives me a great chance to rehash a very important player in the electro arena.

As you may or may not know, the Bloody Beetroots, comprised of Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo and DJ Tommy Tea, have been lighting up blogs all over the place for the past couple years and really thats no surprise if you've ever given them the chance to woo you with their killer beats and saturated hooks. Even with the recent release of their long awaited LP, Romborama this past fall, it seems that the guys really have no intentions of slowing their momentum. With numerous EP releases and new side projects, the Beetroots have managed to stay fresh in our minds, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

In referring to new side projects, that brings me to the topic of the Beetroots' newest incarnation known as Death Crew 77, which seems to promise much of what we are familiar with from Dim Mak's golden boys, while allowing the group to branch in a somewhat different direction and sound. Though distinctions may be hard to pick up on, the crew has added a third Beetroot by the name of Edward Grinch as their live performance drummer. With this new manifestation, Bob Rifo is also said to play more of an instrumental and vocal role during shows as well. With that check out their new video for "Domino" and decide for yourself if the name change was really a necessary move.
